Overview
Chanshal Pass is amongst the most beautiful and lesser-known high-altitude mountain passes of Himachal Pradesh, located in remote Rohru–Chirgaon of Shimla district. Situated at 4,520 metres, it offers magnificent views of the Chanshal mountain range, endless meadows, rolling hills, and snow fields that last up to early summer. The route to Chanshal is also adventurous, snaking its way through thick deodar forests, apple orchards, tiny villages, and open grasslands all the way up to the top of the pass.
Known for raw Himalayan beauty, untouched landscapes, and peacefulness, Chanshal Pass is perfect for adventure lovers, bikers, photographers, and offbeat travelers. It connects Rohru to the remote Dodra-Kwar valley and hence is a gateway to one of the most isolated and beautiful regions of Himachal.
